Parents/Guardians play a vital role in keeping our crew team up and running smoothly. Friends of E.O. Smith Crew is the family-run organization that works to support the team. It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.

Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman Families- We Need You! Currently, our board members are the parents of 2025 Seniors. Your fresh perspectives and energy are crucial. Now is the time for us to share our knowledge with you and ensure a smooth transition for our team's future!

You can be involved in board and non-board positions. If you are unsure about the responsibilities of a role or worried about being unable to commit, please reach out to us! We can be flexible by having people

co-chair positions. Just like our students rowing together, we, too, work together, help each other, and collaborate. We have many roles available for the next year, 2025-2026, that must be filled before this season ends in June 2025.

Friends of EO Smith Crew Board Positions:

President: Open 2025-2026

Manages the Friends of E.O. Smith Board, including scheduling and running meetings, and ensures that the athletes and coaches have the support they need from the board, as well as all parents and guardians.
Vice President: Open 2025-2026
Sabrina Bowersett, Sabaloha@hotmail.com (Ester, Junior, & June, Freshman)
Works with the president and fills the president's role if needed to when it comes to Board meetings and team support.
Treasurer: Todd Kravet, Tkravet@gmail.com (Oliver, Sophomore)
Tracks and manages the finances for the Friends of EO Smith Crew and provides finance updates at board meetings.
Secretary & Heja Coordinator: Open 2025-2026
Faith Kenney, fljkenney@gmail.com (Addie, 2025 Senior)
Secretary: Record keeping for Friends of Crew and takes notes at Board meetings. Updates Heja with practices and regattas; sends messages to the team and parents/guardians as needed.
Hospitality: Co-chair: 2025-26 Christina Day, christinaday0404@gmail.com (Logan, 2026, Junior)
Co-chair: Open
Manages the food and beverage provisions for the team and the coffee corner for the parents at each regatta. This means determining what food and beverages are needed at each regatta, creating SignUpGenius forms for needed items, and sending the SignUpGenius out to parents to call for provisions.
Fundraising Director: Open 2025-2026

The Friends of E.O. Smith Crew point person for all fundraising activities; schedules and manages communications and logistics for all fundraising activities, such as the Applebee's flapjack breakfast and Fall clean-up events.
Website Manager: Galadriel Chilton, galadriel.chilton@gmail.com (Cian, Junior)
Manages the E.O. Smith Crew website and updates Google Forms as needed with Helene Marcy.

Non-Board Positions:

Hospitality Support for Regattas & Team Events: Open (includes set-up and breakdown) Helps with the set-up, management, and clean-up of the food and beverage tables at all regattas.
Team Chef: Open 2025-2026
Parent/Guardian Corner: Open 2025-2026
Michelle Colvin (Isabelle, 2025 Senior)
Prints flyers and information for parents and manages the parent/guardian corner during regattas, where folks come together to get to know one another and share ideas for supporting our athletes. This is an active role walk-around during regattas, welcoming new parents, thanking them for coming, and letting them know about the Parents/Guardians' Corner and how they can stay up-to-date with information and connected to the team. The parent corner table is supplied with hot beverages, often a pastry.

Team Photographer: Open
Takes photographs of the athletes during regattas and shares photos via Heja and with the Website Managers for posting on the website.
Team Merch & Uniforms: Nicole Dukett, knd82397@gmail.com (Colin, 2025 Senior)
Manages logistics and communications for the uniform and E.O. Smith Crew apparel orders.
Land Managers: Dan & Sabrina Bowersett (Ester, Junior & incoming Freshman)
On Regatta Days, help with organization at the regatta site including timing of the races sometimes and assisting with parking large vehicles and buses as well as making announcements.
Equipment Coordinator: Jill Lillis, jill_lillis@yahoo.com, (John Cromie, Junior)
The team's go-to for questions about the team's boats and equipment including repairs.
Launch Assistant: Bill Piotroski (Isabella, Freshman)
Annual maintenance and repairs for the launch boat's engine.
Publicity & Corporate Sponsorship: Open
Seeks out corporate sponsorships for E.O. Smith Crew and shares ideas with the Fundraising Director on financing the team.
